Not sure how it will effect them though as I am far from an expert. I am sure some photographers need the very best conversion of their raw files and this very well may effect them. I am sure that the conversion will be just fine for my needs and I am focusing more on layout, use ability (if thats a word), features and support if needed and most importantly how it feels to me. I know a good conversion is important, but in my opinion each raw convertor has its downfalls. Early on testing, Zoomed 400%, less visible at 100% etc. When reading reviews or others opinions on a product I look for some key words. Not sure if what is said effects me or not. He has concerns about ON1's RAW conversion. See Bart's posts in the thread linked below. Update which resolves a few issues and mainly improves performance. Using the new Luminar from Macphun and I like it so far. The next morning because support suggested they would not RSP down during the Rebooted my computer and it still crashed. I qualified for the RAW developer when it arrived because I purchased the OnOne10.Äownloaded the RAW converter when it became available and tried to open the RAW fileįrom my SonyILCE 7R2 in there develop module and it crashed. To be honest, I will be surprised if it does. Currently, I use Photo Ninja as my raw converter, so On1 will have to equal or surpass it in order for me to make that switch. If they are very good to excellent, I may move my entire workflow into On1 Photo RAW. My real interest is in the quality of the raw conversions. But I have no interest in being a beta tester, which is what everyone who downloaded the pre-release is. That's why I took advantage of a $79 upgrade pre-order offer last summer. I have been using On1 since v8, and I love it. I plan to use it as a compliment to LR instead of a replacement. I'll have some time off at Christmas and plan to try it out. I've been so busy at work I haven't had time to devote to post processing anyway. I really like On1 products and look forward to the release. I think thats a sign of a company that cares and for 99 bucks, I think you get a lot with that and was worth the chance on my part. They could keep it secret and just give the finished product in December, but I think its great as if any bugs or last minute changes could be made by real word use in the interim. I personally think its a great idea and like one poster said, basically you are paying 99 dollars for a product thats not out yet, but they are giving you a preview of whats to come. I feel like its giving me some needed early learning, so when the full version gets released, I can get right to work. Nobody is getting "bent out of shape." I have been using ON1 software for a while and quite like their product. Perhaps some folks should actually check into the definition of what a beta offering actually is. They can wait for the finished release later this month. Heck, customers are not required to even download the beta. No one is holding those customers hostage or invoking underhanded means to force the offered beta app upon them. Seriously, I don't know why so many folks are getting bent out of shape just because On1 has offered a beta preview that is incomplete to folks that PRE_ORDERD the finished product. Really? Someone should enlighten Adobe because almost every update to Lr CC 2015 has been just that. They shouldn't be sending out a beta to paying customers without incorporating so fundamental a feature.
